Francesco Giusti

Biography

Venice (1952-2024). Active as a poet, performer, and visual artist since the 1980s. He collaborated with many magazines, including ZETA, Mgur, Steve, Anterem, Nuovi Argomenti, Coyote’s Journal (USA), mini (Switzerland), Infolio (England), Zeitschrift für alles (Germany), Aiou and Doc(k)s (France), Ilandron (Cyprus), and more. Together with Rita Degli Esposti and John Gian, he founded Veneziaundertide, a handmade poetry magazine.

Among his many published books: Indice Naturale (Campanotto, 1988), E torna l’autunno (The Writer, 2017), Quando le ombre si staccano dal muro (Quodlibet, 2017). He collaborated extensively with fellow poets and artists. Writers such as Paolo Ruffilli, Giorgio Agamben, Annelisa Alleva, Franco Beltrametti, Giulia Niccolai, and Pier Franco Uliana have written about him.

In recent years, together with Giulio Semenzato, he founded and directed the magazine Binario 17. His works were often featured on Fahrenheit and Suite, radio programs on Rai Radio 3.

His final visual work was created for Cobalto.
